F³A: Is this thing on?

I'm wondering, some days on my blog I have a lot of comments, other days I have none. I know people look at my blog daily. How come so few comments?

I started thinking about what  makes me comment on a blog or not. I mean, in truth, I've not had the time to look at a lot of blogs lately, but when I do, there are specific reasons why I comment.

I want to support my fellow bloggers. To show them that I read them.

Because I have something to add to the conversation.

If I don't comment it's usually just because I don't feel like I have anything useful to say or don't know much about the subject matter.

Sometimes I feel like I lose readers because I'm at times sporadic. Life gets in the way of my blogging and I'll go a few days or even a week without connecting with my audience.  I think that's detrimental to a blog. Maybe it's also because I'm all over the place with the blog. One day I'm talking about writing, then dating, then kids, then exercise...it's a blog about life really. I've decided to kind of keep focused on the writing aspect of my life, but you know, I can't stop myself from ranting if something comes up.

Do you have any insights as to blog trending? Why do you comment or not? Do you try to change things up when people don't comment?

Here's the Friday Scribbles, which I've not done in awhile either.

Netflix of the Week: To be honest, I can't remember the last thing I watched. Let me think a minute. Oh, yeah, it was a movie called Spork. Think female Napoleon Dynamite. Well, kind of female, she's a hermaphrodite. Very funny.

Book of theWeek: The Wicked and the Just by J. Anderson Coats. Think, Medieval girls gone bad, as Jillian says.

Monkey Madness Monday: Goals, Obstacles, and My Addiction to Netflix

So, it's officially the commencement of 2012 (resolutions don't begin on the 1st, at least in my world), so thus begins the attempt to reach all my goals for the year. Today will actually be a little difficult because I'm going to be taking down the Christmas decorations and cleaning house, but I will fit in the elliptical, hopefully some writing and reading (there's a book I need to finish in the next couple days).

There are things I'll have to sacrifice to reach my goals for the year, and this is all part of my resolutions to balance my time. I need to cut back on the Netflix. This will be hard because I think it's actually become a crutch for me on the weeks my kids are at their dads.

When they're gone, I crawl into bed early with my Kindle and watch stuff, right now I'm watching Gray's Anatomy. I just need to shift gears. Instead of crawling into bed and watching Netflix, I need to be reading. OR, I need to not crawl in to bed and I need to be writing.

As you all know, if you've been reading me for awhile, I suffered from exhaustion the last few months of the year, so I'll have to fight this as well. It leaves me too tired to do much of anything except lay around and watch shows and movies. I'm going to kick exhaustion's ass this year to get my butt on the elliptical and get back to the things I love, reading and writing.

But I'll probably need to take baby steps.

Do you have any goals you want to reach this year? What are some obstacles you foresee that may keep you from those goals? How will you get past them.

Tfer Tuesday

I did not find someone to guest or tandem blog with me today, so instead I'm going to be commenting on a blog I read.  Dawn over at Through the Looking Glass blogged about her Gleekiness.  She posts photos of her muses on her blog as well, yesterday being totally super hot picture of Matthew Morrison.

People that know me, know I love musicals.  Hair is my ultimate favorite movie.  I've seen it a million times and can sing every song by heart.  I've been known to put on the soundtrack and belt it out, even the songs that didn't make it to the movie.  Loves: Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, Cabaret, West Side Story, All That Jazz, and of course, Grease.  I could name more, but these are the faves.

So here's the kicker, as this girl who has loved musicals since she busted out of the womb...wait for it...I've never watched an episode of Glee.  Ever.  Why?  Honestly, I have no idea.  I keep saying I want to, but I don't.  Maybe it's just that I'm short on time these days.  Maybe it's because I hate being a slave to the television.  Maybe it's because I seriously need to get some writing done, taken on a side job, outside my real job, soccer season still in full swing.  Who knows?

So, my goal for the week is to 1) see if season one is on Netflix instant watch 2) If it's not see if they have full epidodes on the net.  But someone will need to tell me what channel it's on, because I don't even know that.
